Hawk stopped pecking at snake to regurgitate three pellets.
The pellets can be seen just in front of the claws and snake.
Pellets were the remains of three field mice.
After killing snake the hawk departed leaving the snake.
The complete snake was there.
Hawk did not return to remove the snake and it departed after it was satisfied the snake was dead.
I was surprised to see the snake since it was cold and cloudy and usually the snake only appears when the sun is very bright and high in the sky at this time of the year (April 3)
